Zero Dollar Budget

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Zero Dollar Budget iOS application ("the App") operated by Zero Dollar Budget ("we", "us", "our").

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Zero Dollar Budget is a personal finance budgeting application that allows you to:

Create monthly zero-based budgets
Track income and expenses
Share budgets with household members you invite
Export financial data as CSV files

The App is a planning and tracking tool only. It does not provide financial advice, connect to bank accounts, or process payments.

3. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

To use the App, you must create an account by providing:

A valid email address
A password (minimum 6 characters)

You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. USER CONTENT & DATA

You retain ownership of all financial data and content you enter into the App ("User Content"), including budgets, categories, transactions, and notes.

By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. We do not verify financial information.

5. HOUSEHOLD SHARING

The App allows you to share budgets with other users ("Household Members"). When you invite someone to your household:

They will have access to view and modify shared budgets
They can add, edit, and delete transactions
You can remove members at any time from Settings

You are responsible for whom you invite. We are not liable for actions taken by Household Members within shared budgets.

6. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree NOT to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Transmit malicious code or interfere with the App's functionality
Create multiple accounts to circumvent limitations
Use the App to store information unrelated to personal budgeting

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The App, including its design, code, branding, and features, is the property of Zero Dollar Budget and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial budgeting purposes.

8. AVAILABILITY & MODIFICATIONS

We strive to keep the App available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
Modify, update, or discontinue features with reasonable notice
Release new versions requiring you to update

9. SUBSCRIPTION & PRICING

The App is currently offered free of charge. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future:

Existing free features will remain available
You will be clearly notified before any charges apply
Payments will be processed through Apple's App Store

All purchases are subject to Apple's App Store terms and refund policies.

10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

MERCHANTABILITY
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
NON-INFRINGEMENT
ACCURACY OF FINANCIAL CALCULATIONS

We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or that any defects will be corrected.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZERO DOLLAR BUDGET SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM:

Your use of or inability to use the App
Errors or inaccuracies in budget calculations
Financial decisions made based on information in the App
Unauthorized access to your data
Any third-party conduct on the App

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. DATA EXPORT & ACCOUNT TERMINATION

You may export your data at any time via the Settings screen.

You may delete your account by contacting zerodollarbudget@outlook.com. Upon deletion:

Your personal data will be removed within 30 days
Shared household data may persist for other members
We may retain anonymized, aggregated data

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The App uses the following third-party services:

Supabase (database hosting and authentication)
Apple Sign In (optional authentication)
Google Sign In (optional authentication)
Apple App Store (distribution)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

14. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

15. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through:

An in-app notification
Email to your registered address

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
